Is my Instagram account Professional?

DhanaaDhan Lite can post only to a Professional Instagram account: Business or Creator. Both work.

Please know this first

A private account becomes public. If your account is private, it becomes public when you make it Professional, and any waiting follow requests are accepted.
  • Changing is free and takes about a minute
  • You can go back to a personal account at any time
  • You do not need a Facebook Page. If Instagram asks, tap Skip
  • You do not have to add contact details. Tap Don't use my contact info

How to see which kind of account you have

In the Instagram app:

  1. Open your profile (bottom right).
  2. Tap More (☰, top right) → Settings and activity.
  3. Under For professionals, tap Account type and tools.
  4. If you see Switch to professional account, your account is personal. If you see Account type / Switch account type, it is already Professional.

How to change it

In the Instagram app:

  1. Profile → More (☰) → Settings and activity.
  2. Under For professionals → Account type and tools → Switch to professional account.
  3. Pick a category (it does not decide Business or Creator) → Switch to professional account.
  4. Choose Business (shops, local businesses, brands, services) or Creator → Next.
  5. Contact details: add them, or tap Don't use my contact info. Facebook Page: Skip is fine.

On instagram.com (from a computer)

More → Settings → under For professionals, Account type and tools → Switch to professional account → Business or Creator → Next → category → Done → Continue.

How we check

When you press Check my account in DhanaaDhan Lite, Instagram's own sign-in page opens. You sign in there. We never ask for your Instagram password. After that, Instagram itself tells us which kind of account you have. After you change your account, press Check again.

You need to be signed in to DhanaaDhan to run the check.

The menu names are Instagram's own, and Instagram sometimes changes them. If you cannot find a name, search for "professional account" in Instagram's Help Centre.
